L
et me interrupt this broadcast to say - I WORK WITH FABULOUS PEOPLE! It's true, my clients are amazing!!

And Adrienne and Ryan are no exception. They exude fabulousity!

We met up a couple of nights ago down south of Denver in old town Littleton. It was an incredible evening to get out for a stroll, get to know this wonderful couple, and capture some amazing photographs. Wouldn't this one make a super cool 'Save The Date' note?!

Broomfield High Senior Pictures - Cole

S
o, here are just a few things I learned about Cole in the few hours we spent together the other evening...

He plays Center Midfielder on the Broomfield High Soccer team.
He's played on varsity since his freshman year.
They won the state championship his sophomore year.
The final game went to double overtime, 0-0, and just a couple of minutes before it would go to penalty kicks Cole kicked the winning goal.
As a sophomore.
This year he's hoping to get another championship, and another ring.
Cole turned down Stanford.
To attend DU.
Cole loves Colorado.

But more than any of those things I discovered that Cole is a remarkable young man - smart, kind, committed, determined, polite.
Yeah, all those things.

Here are a few of my favorite images.

Boulder Colorado Wedding - Kate and Drew

I
remember when I met up with Kate and Drew for their engagement session in Kate's parent's backyard. They told me that this would be the place for their wedding reception - but beyond that I remember them laying out the entire vision for the celebration. The cake table will go here, the band will be here, there will be tables here... Even Kate's parents joined in - There will be other flowers here, this bed of flowers here will look different... There was a strong, clear vision to perfectly celebrate the marriage of Kate and Drew.

So, did they pull it off?

The best way I can answer that is to show you the photographs. :)

But, FIRST, they've gotta get married, right!? We started the afternoon with a beautiful wedding at St. John's Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colorado. Here's Kate waiting just outside the door before her walk down the aisle.

The entire scene was New Orleans style and it was like they took this little piece of Boulder and transported us way down south. But before you try any of this on your own you must know that it took an unbelievable amount of work by some very talented people - namely Julie of Classic Creations for planning and coordinating this entire event. Alicia at Bella Fiori for all the florals. Catering by Design for all the food. Jerry Barnett Productions for the music. TDA Design for the lights. And I'm sure there are more... Outstanding!

They even had an incredible second line band playing during the cocktail hour which added to the southern atmosphere.

And at one point they did a grand entrance with the bride and groom.

There was a 40% chance of rain or something scary like that. But when faced with all of the options on how to protect against what may come, ie. put up a tent, move indoors, etc. - Kate wasn't having any of it. It didn't fit the dream you see. And so we all prayed and look! Sunbeams! It all turned out magnificently!

Makin' My Monday! (The Bridal Blog Edition)

W
hen I first got started in this business I was completely unaware of the power of a good blog and the important role a good blog plays in the wedding industry. But it didn't take long for me to develop some kind of addiction to wedding blogs! At first my blogroll was primarily other photographers. I'm sure that at it's peak I was subscribing to 30+ other photography blogs - learning about the business, being inspired by fabulous weddings and photographs, etc. But right now I've trimmed that list down to just a few and while a couple of the 'big name' wedding photographers are still on the role, now I pay more attention to my friends in the local community and what they're up to.

On the national (or, global!) scene, my blog interests have moved to, what I call, 'Bridal Blogs'. These are the websites brides can, and do, turn to for inspiration when planning their wedding. And my thought process goes like this - if this is what Brides are looking at, shouldn't I be looking at them too!? It's helped me see what is truly happening right now in the wedding world beyond photographs. Sure, photos are there, but these bridal blogs also feature design, stationary, florals, reception concepts, bridal tips, etc. All of these are things that help me be more in tune to what is happening in the world of weddings.

As a byproduct of following these Bridal Blogs I've also got involved with some of them. Recently, around the web, you can find my work on the following sites:

The Bride's Cafe featured Alissa and Matt's Engagement Session!

'Inspired By This' featured some of my photos from Lisa and Adam's Wedding, as well as images from Glenn and Melissa's Wedding.
ACF8E44

'The Southern Weddings Daily Blog' featured Erin and Ted's beautiful wedding in Delaware.
ACF8E41
[ 0 ]

And 'Destination I Do' featured Lynora and Matt's wedding in Mexico.

As you can see, I'm a true believer in these Bridal Blogs! For how they inspire Brides and Grooms and all of us wedding vendors, and for how they help my business by getting my images in front of a national audience!

Wedding at Wash Park - Laura and Jon

I
've seen all kinds of weddings - and my favorite are when the anxiety is at a low, joy is in abundance, and love is in the air. Laura and Jon's wedding was one of these and it was such a delight to behold. Simple, True, Happy - and perfect.

One for the road...

O
k, many of you know that I'm on vacation right now and I had mentioned that I wouldn't be adding any new posts for a little while.... well, you just can't keep me away! :)

The story goes that I flew back in on Sunday, taking a little break from my vacation to photograph the wedding of Laura and Jon here in Denver today. I'm flying out tomorrow at 6am to continue my vacation - but I just couldn't leave town without posting an image from Laura and Jon's lovely wedding!

Congrats guys!!
