ometimes when I photograph a Denver Engagement Session couples bring props or changes of clothes. And sometimes they bring a whole lotta personality! Meet Chrissey and Kevin. :)

I asked them what they wanted to do during our session together. Kevin said 'I want to take some photos with the cows'. Ok, Kevin, you got it!

ara and Erich had never been to Eldorado Canyon State Park before... and neither had I. As I pulled into the State Park I immediately called my wife as I was simply awestruck by the beauty of this place and I had to tell someone. A few minutes later, when Kara and Erich arrived, the three of us began hiking around, exploring this Colorado paradise, and taking some photos to celebrate their engagement and upcoming wedding. They're a beautiful couple and this was the perfect setting.
What followed was epic.

Congrats you two! It was a joy getting to explore this place with you and to capture some images I know you'll always adore.
oana and Hans are architects. During our initial correspondence they told me that one thing they loved about my work was how 'architectural' it is. I've got to tell you, this set my mind spinning for days! I had never heard anyone say that before, but as I thought about it it began to make sense to me.
There are a number of elements that do, or can, go into creating a good image. One of those is 'line'. I do think I emphasize 'line' more in my work than some other elements and so I decided that this must be what Joana and Hans meant. Well, irregardless of whether this is true or not, or if this is even what they meant, the fact is that they like my work and I like them!
We met up again last weekend at Cheesman Park in Denver, Colorado which happens to be near their home. They rode their vintage bicycles over and we enjoyed a wonderful early-summer evening at the park among the gorgeous Linden Trees (see guys, I said 'Linden'. You taught me something!).

Then after a little wardrobe change we went downtown for some engagement photos at Union Station. This is a very special place for the two of them and it was fun mixing it up with a total switch in backdrop and atmosphere.

Wedding at the Stanley Hotel Estes Park | Kirsten and Bobby

t's always great to get away to the Colorado Mountains for a Wedding. And I imagine this is even more true if, after living here and planning your wedding, you move away to North Dakota before your wedding day! But Kirsten and Bobby returned to celebrate their marriage at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park - and it was wonderful!

Kirsten looked incredible and so, so happy!

Kirsten and Bobby opted for a first look (which I highly recommend) so we had a lot of time before the ceremony to take some great photos with these two lovebirds.

Stacy Pisani with Alexan Events, on my shortlist of favorite Denver Wedding Planners, put everything together and it was simply stunning! Kirsten's face, when she saw the room for the first time, says it all.

I love the long banquet tables - it reminds me of family getting together for the holidays.

emember when I mentioned that Petrina and Javier would be 'back for more the following morning'? Well, I wasn't kidding! They woke up early and met me on the beach for a little fun in the sun and sand... and ocean. SO FUN!

Destination Wedding at Westin Los Cabos | Petrina and Javier

here is something so perfectly intimate about a destination wedding. Gather all your family and friends together for 4 days or so and create a weekend to remember - sharing every detail with those you love.
Petrina and Javier did just that at the Westin in Los Cabos this last weekend, and for those who got to experience it, it was a wedding we'll always treasure.

alfway between Orange County and New York you'll find that Colorado is a hotbed of creative talent among wedding industry professionals. And recently I got together with a group of them for a stunning photo shoot at the Oxford Hotel in Denver.
It's a blast when you get a bunch of creative minds together intent on crafting and capturing beauty. And at this photo shoot it all began with Alisa Benay, Colorado's premiere wedding gown designer. The shoot started out with Alisa needing some images of the four new members of her collection: Daphne, Iris, Bianca, and Stella. Apart from recognizing great work when I see it, I'm not much of a fashion know-it-all kinda guy so I'll let the good people at The Perfect Bound Blog describe them to you:
These pretty ladies are all designed with the Victorian era in mind, combining corsets, ruffles and bustles with the sensibility of a 21st Century bride in mind. As a fashion designer, Alisa combs through racks of vintage clothing and pages of Renaissance novels all in the name of inspiration. The result is a collection filled with flirty and romantic details like flounce hems and ribbon corsets.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. :)

Did you hear that turquoise is the 'color of the year' for weddings? If you're anything like me, you just said 'TURQUOISE!?!?' But, yes, it's true. And I had NO idea how beautiful it could be until I saw this display.
